Instructions
To use our calculator:
Select the type of product you are interested in, either Mulch/Soil which is sold by volume or Gravel which is sold by the ton.
Select the geometry or shape you are trying to calculate coverage for.
Rectangle: is just a simple rectangle defined by a length and a width. This shape is the most common option for large flower beds.
Circle: is just a simple circle defined by a diameter. This option is commonly used for patios.
Tree Circle: is a circular annulus or donut shape defined by two diameters. This option is commonly used for beds around a tree.
Pool Circle: is a circular annulus or donut shape defined by a diameter and a radial offset. This option is often useful for adding a border around something like a pool.
Pool Rectangle: is a rectangular annulus defined by the length and width of the enclosed rectangle and an offset. This option is good for adding a border around a rectangular structure like a pool.
Enter the relevant dimensions as shown in the accompanying graphic. Units are in feet.
Enter the Thickness that you wish to cover the area with. Units are in inches.
Press the calculate button when you are satisfied with your inputs.
Repeat the steps above for each area you wish to cover and sum together the outputs.
