Topsoils

Topsoil is the uppermost layer of soil in which which plants typically grow. The final grade of a site is typically set using a topsoil to allow for vegetation growth. Different topsoils are available depending on organic matter required and equipment available on site.

Regular Topsoil

Regular Topsoil is often sourced from construction sites before construction begins. Regular Topsoil contains rocks, roots and large clumps from the heavy equipment used in its excavation. Soil quality is somewhat variable based on available sources.

Screened Topsoil

Screened Topsoil is made by running our Regular Topsoil through a 3/8" screener to remove rocks, roots and clumps. This makes for a fine, consistent, easy to spread product. It is very well suited for final grading and filling small hollows or depressions in existing grade.

Screened Blend

Screened Blend is a blend of half Screened Topsoil and half Mushroom Soil. The Mushroom Soil naturally enriches the Screened Topsoil making the screened blend an excellent growing media for a wide variety of plants. This product works great for seeding grass and is a wise choice for vegetable gardens. Due to the moisture in the Mushroom Soil, clumps will be more prevalent in this product than in our other screened products.

Rain Garden Mix

Rain Garden Mix is a soil mixture that consists of 40% topsoil, 40% compost, and 20% sand.  This product will support plant growth and increase the filtration rate of the soil.
