Playgrounds

Playgrounds are an important part of childhood development that promotes cognitive, physical, and social wellbeing. Ensuring that playgrounds are fun while being safe can be a challenge. Walking paths

Walking paths through wooded areas provide a low impact way to blur the boundaries between structured, planned landscaping and nature. Reducing weed growth and erosion as well as making for less mud and easier walking is best accomplished through natural mulch. Wood Chips, Clean Wood Chips, or Safe Cover are all excellent options for these types of projects.

Simply clear away brush and put down 3”-5” of your chosen product. Keep topped off every couple of years as it breaks down or is displaced.

Landscape beds

One of the most common uses for our products is mulching flower beds. This helps to retain soil moisture, regulate soil temperature, suppress weed growth, and improve the aesthetics of your landscape. 

For the best results mulch should be applied to a depth of approximately 3 inches on new or neglected beds. Mulch should generally be topped off every year to maintain this depth.

When mulch is applied regularly it may build up beyond three inches and begin choking out plants. If this is the case, old mulch should be removed before applying additional mulch. This additionally helps to reduce the growth of mushrooms and fungi.
