Red Dyed Mulch

Our Red Dyed Wood Mulch is a bright red color and is made by adding red dye to an all-hardwood mulch that is double shredded. Red Dyed has a lively bright red color that provides a stark visual contrast in almost any background. Due to the hardwood, it won't break down/decompose very quickly and the addition of dye maintains the initial color of the mulch and does not readily grey out when weathered.

Due to the way in which wood decomposes, Dyed Wood Mulches can lead to depletion of nitrogen in the soil. To use wood mulches over long periods of time, supplemental nitrogen or nitrogen fixing plants may be required. Alternatively, although not available in red, the use of a bark-based mulch such as our Premium Bark can reduce this effect to some extent.
